AGM 2023

We would like to thank all the people that came to our AGM in March at the Swan Italian Club in Middle Swan. A special thank you to Cosimo Coniglio, the President of the Club, for their generosity in letting us use the hall for our meeting. We were very pleased to hear from David Lucas, our Patron and the Mayor of City of Swan, David congratulated us for the work that we do in protecting and promoting our diverse food culture and traditions. We also heard from Nancye Gannaway from DPIRD, about the current outbreak of the Queensland Fruit Fly and what the Department is doing to prevent further spread of the pest.

It was a wonderful night where we had the pleasure to share different dishes made by some of our convivium members and some committee members. We concluded the night with the election of the Chair and the new committee and would like to welcome the new committee member Tamieka Preston from the Northern Valleys Locavore Store and Northern Valleys News. We have already been working hard and held our first event of the year last Sunday at the Naked Fox, and are also in the process of organizing a few more events:

Slow Olive Festival on the 28th of May, part of the Gidgegannup Small Farm Field Day;

Workshop on Agritourism on the 27th of June at Plume Wine Estate in the Bickley Valley;

Sausage Making Wokrkshop TBC
