Slow Food

Swan Valley and Eastern Regions

We are part of Slow Food International, a not-for-profit, global, grassroots organization, founded in 1989 to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, and to encourage people’s interest in the food they eat, where it comes from and how our food choices affect the world around us.

Who are we?

Slow Food Swan Valley & Eastern Regions is a community of food lovers, producers, growers, cooks and advocates who share a passion for good, clean and fair food.

We celebrate the rich food culture of the Swan Valley and surrounding regions by supporting local producers, promoting seasonal and sustainable food, and connecting people with the stories behind what they eat.

As part of Slow Food International, we believe that food should be good for those who enjoy it, clean for the environment, and fair for the people who grow and produce it. Through events, workshops, education and community projects, we help strengthen the connection between local food, local producers and the wider community.

Slow Food

What do we do?

We bring people together through Long Table lunches, producer visits, workshops, cooking demonstrations, tastings, field days and community events that celebrate local food and food culture.

Our events connect consumers with the farmers, growers, makers and food businesses behind the food we enjoy, creating a deeper understanding of where our food comes from and why it matters.

By supporting local producers and sharing knowledge, skills and traditions, we help build a stronger, more sustainable and more connected food community throughout the Swan Valley and Eastern Regions.
