Who are we?
Our Swan Valley based, Slow Food Convivium, is a group of Western Australian members, interested in sharing the philosophy of GOOD, CLEAN and FAIR food and in being connected to a sustainable, bio-diverse food community. We are part of Slow Food International, a not-for-profit, global, grassroots organization, founded in 1989 to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, and to encourage people’s interest in the food they eat, where it comes from and how our food choices affect the world around us.
What do we do?
Our popular Long Table events, taste workshops, hands-on cooking classes, and our participation in conferences, showcase events, and field days, provide opportunities to welcome people to the table and inspire individuals and communities to enjoy and value food.
We promote the idea of consumers being co-producers in our awareness of food production and enjoyment of food. Producers play a key role in this process by working to achieve quality and making their experience available to others.
